SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT

Safeguarding at Daring Diadems

Daring Diadems works with children and young people, and we take our responsibility to keep them safe with the utmost seriousness. Every child who takes part in our activities has the right to enjoy them in a safe environment, free from harm, neglect, exploitation, or abuse.

Our commitment

โ— We protect children and young people from harm by following recognised safeguarding standards and by taking proportionate, child-centred action whenever a concern arises.

โ— Everyone at Daring Diadems โ€” trustees, staff, volunteers, and partners, is trained in safeguarding appropriate to their role and undergoes Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where required.

โ— We follow safer recruitment practices, including references, identity checks, and DBS clearance for all roles working directly with children and young people.

โ— We listen to children and young people, and we make sure they and their parents and carers know how to raise concerns and that we will take those concerns seriously.

โ— We comply with the Charity Commission's safeguarding requirements, the Department for Education's Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) statutory guidance, and the safeguarding standards set by our local authority safeguarding partners.

How to raise a concern

โ— If your concern involves a member of our team, our procedures ensure it is handled by someone independent of that person.
